IC Information
CHARACTER NAME; Yoko
AGE; 16too many numbers contradict eachother I’m going with the option that makes the most sense
CANON; Tengen Toppa Gurren Lagann
CANON POINT; Episode 8; night at the camp before her second talk with Kamina
FAMILY TYPES; I’d like her to have Fanbeemon back if she can. Her original picks were Dragon’s Roar, Nature Spirits, and Wind Guardians
APPEARANCE;
Yoko is a tall, very curvy teenager with long bright red (well, more like cartoonishly red) hair and gold eyes. Her hair is done up in a high ponytail (which she hides a pistol in), kept up with two needles, and she wears a skull hair clip over her left bangs. Her clothes leave even less to the imagination, since it's basically leather red flame bikini and black booty shorts with pink thigh-high stockings. As for accessories Yoko goes with orange sunglasses, a pink scarf, white studded belt, black fingerless gloves with her left glove reaching up her arm, and white flame boots. She can dress a little more modestly, but chooses less for combat stuations.
And we can’t forget Yoko’s electromagnetic rifle that she keeps on her at all times with a pink strap.
For serious
PERSONALITY;
The redhead who is meant to counterbalance the manic and reckless force that is Kamina and shrinking violet that is Simon.
All while carrying a big gun.
With her bright red hair and usual fashion sense, it’s pretty easy to get a guage of Yoko’s personality from appearances alone. Not even she can escape the fiery redhead/tsundere trope, with her boundless amount of energy and a mood that switches on a dime. While she does come off as friendly and supportive, she also has the tendency to get frustrated or angered easily. It takes time and effort to fully gain her trust and loyalty; even if the relationship is nothing but bickering and fighting, she will finally yield if there’s something good deep down. It just takes awhile because her stubbornness is flat out frustrating at times. She gets jealous when ‘cuter/hotter’ is getting more attention than she is, or is paying attention to the guy she has a crush on. Let’s not forget, she is a teenager, so hormones have some part to play that hasn’t already played on her body.
So she may look like Miss Fanservice, but keep the eyes up. We have much more to go through.
On first meeting Kamina and Simon, Yoko comes off as the most mature and knowledgeable of the trio. Of course the maturity part sticks since just look who she’s hanging around with. She can keep a cool head and think before she leaps into a fight, but Yoko only knows more because she’s been up on the surface longer. Like knowing how to basically read and knowing some things about the Beastmen. Leeron and later Rossiu are the ones that are the real brains, but Yoko has the sense of mind to keep up with those smarter than her and actually listen to what they have to say.
She’s a tough action girl who’s thrown into battle on a daily basis. In fact, this is her main reason for the clothes that she does wear, since anything more would impede her in a combat situation. And considering Gunman attacks are a constant and could occur at any instance, wearing little all of the time goes a long way. Though she does have a bit of the manic side (but honestly who doesn’t in this show), Yoko tries to be the brains in combat. Before jumping in, Yoko is the type to watch the enemy from a distance, formulating strategies and watching for enemy weaknesses. She is a sniper after all: very patient and on her toes in case the situation does change. Though Kamina rarely ever listens at first, making a lot of her advice moot. And she will chastise him for not listening to her and putting Simon and himself at risk.
Despite appearances, Yoko is actually very protective of people in general. She grew up with her village as her family, and when they were forced on the surface, Yoko took up the role as the protector. When a stray Gunman fell into another village, Yoko chased it down to take care of it, as it was her village's mess to clean up. She wants peace and the freedom to live above ground, but she understands that if she really does want it, she has to fight for that peace. She has a very strong bond of loyalty, as she will do anything in her power to keep those in her team safe. It’s been shown that she can be a little reckless in this sense, as she can and will push herself past her limits if she has to. But at the same time, she believes everyone should have to pull their own weight and has no patience for the helpless that won’t help themselves.
When it comes to romance, Yoko comes off very rough, not having much experience with it to begin with. She tries desperately to deflect whenever someone flat out asks her about her feeling, but her blushing and acts of violence speak volumes. Yeah she pretty much comes off like the schoolgirl who gets embarrassed too easily. It really doesn’t help when your crush is an idiot pervert of a man that makes fun of your ass. But she’s patient and watches for the other side of people that they don’t just show on a whim. Like with Kamina, he comes off as a pig with way too much energy, but she only becomes attracted to him after seeing the kind of introspection he goes through. At this point, Yoko realizes that she does have strong feelings for Kamina, and Yoko isn’t one to switch her love on a whim. When she loves someone, she’s in it for the long run, even though it takes time for her to finally admit it.
On the subject of death, well, we haven’t gotten to that point yet but her reaction does still apply. Yoko as never lost anyone she has been extremely close to yet, so death to her, especially death in combat, is something that happens. When they lost Littner Village and some of the villagers, Yoko told herself to keep moving forward and not let their sacrifice be in vain. You should never let it stop you or break you down, or else you’ll be dead all the sooner. However, when it is someone close to her that dies unexpectedly, she does let it get to her. She tries to hide the pain and shoulder it, but she can and will break down, especially when there’s a lack of reverence on full display.
All in all, she may be a pain to deal with at points, but there’s really no better ally you can get in a world of giant robots.

[Time in Terminal Tokyo]
It was short, but it was fun. Most of the time was spent bickering with Fanbeemon, but she made some friends as she tried to understand this crazy world she was thrown into. She started training under Garrus, and her rifle was left with him when she went home.

THIRD PERSON;
It was a nice day out. The sun was shining, the air was hot with a subtle breeze in it. If she had nothing better to do, Yoko would be spending a lazy day, just staring up at the sky. But unfortunately, she had everything to do. Find a way home, get back to the battle before anything bad happens to Kamina or Simon or anyone else on Team Dai Gurren, find out what’s going on with this place to name a few.
For now, fixing her rifle took priority. She’s taken it apart and reassembled it several times now, trying to find out why exactly it wasn’t getting any power. Everything looked perfectly normal, but it still wasn’t working. It had to be the power source, but how would she fix that without the supplies from Littner-
“Working on that busted thing again?” A Fanbeemon, her Fanbeemon hovered over her work, again. Yoko’s focus slowly began to descend into annoyance, as most of their conversations seemed to go.
“Yup, I’m working on my rifle again.”
The Digimon sighed, they were going through this circle again. “I already old you, even if you got it working again, it won’t do anything. I’m the one who’s gonna be doing all the fighting.”
“Hey give me a break, I’m new to all of this. I’m used to creatures like you trying to kill me, not trying to make friends and protect me.” Make friends was an exaggeration of course. To be fair, these Digimon really did look like smaller Beastmen, not quite animal and not human either. Yet this one right here kept on insisting it wasn’t one. “If you think I’m just going to sit around and let you take care of everything, then you really don’t know anything about girls.”
Their personalities matched a little too closely, though neither would ever admit it. FAnbeemon was getting just as annoyed as she was. “The heck does that mean?”
“See? Point made.” And the bee started fuming and grumbling. Yoko’s attentioned turned upwards towards the sky. It really was…a beautiful day out. “Hey Fanbeemon, do you get to look up at the sky all the time?”
Blink. Blink. “What?”
“I mean does anything ever try to stop you. Has anyone ever tried to kill you just for living up here?”
“Of course not. Who’d be that crazy?”
“Who would be?” A world where you could look up at the sky and nothing was trying to stop you. “Seems too good to be true.”
“Huh?”
“Nothing. Forget it.”
“Of course, my destined partner and she turns out to be a headcase.” Overly dramatic, Fanbeemon’s words were trying to get a rise out of her. And to his credit, they did just that.
“Watch it bug or I’m you’re getting a friendly introduction to the flyswatter.” Grabbing the shaft, Yoko started swinging, and the bee started dodging. There were some exchanges of ‘crazy broad’ and ‘stupid bug,’ but the battle was over after Fanbeemon flew up high where Yoko’s reach wouldn’t get her. And then she nailed him square in the head with a empty bullet casing and the Digimon fell like a ton of bricks. Point goes to Yoko, who went back to polishing. “It seems like a perfect fit. I wonder...if Kamina would like this world.”
